Tomás Kennedy is an experienced and skilful consultant, especially in the field of international development. He is sensitive to the needs of individuals and groups, and able to deal with difference and conflict when it arises.
He prepares well and keeps informed on current issues and policy, and connects well with individuals across different cultures and backgrounds. His concern for individuals and their learning and development can on occasion mean that he finds it difficult to both meet their needs and complete the agreed agenda in the time available, putting himself under pressure rather than the group.
I have always experienced Tomás as paying good attention to his ongoing professional and technical competence and development, through engaging in practice workshops, reading, networks, and accredited programmes over the years that I have know him.
Tomás has extensive experience of the world of international development. I have personally worked alongside Tomás in DFID, Unicef, and UNDP, and have always found him to be well informed and aware of the complexities and challenges of these organisations and their context.
He has many years experience of working with cross cultural and mixed gender groups. During my experience of working with him on a large leadership development programmefor DFID, which also contained a linked diversity module, Tomás always worked well with linking the issues and enabling participants to contribute and explore sensitive territory with sensitivity and care, but without collusion.
As already commented on in earlier remarks, I experience Tomas as consistently working conscientiously and with integrity whenever I am with him and would have no doubts about his continuing to work in this way, as it is a core part of who he is as a person.
