Drilling and Completion Superintendent responsible for directing the day to day drilling and completion operations and coordinating the activities of the drilling engineer and production engineers to achieve the goals set out by upper management. Work with land, geology and regulatory personnel as needed to be sure that there are no problems with land damages, permits, construction of roads and location and geology has given engineers landing and lateral TD points so that well plans can be drawn up. Responsible for the bidding of casing, tubing and other services as needed for a particular job, Responsible for the hiring of field personnel. Assist production engineer in the design and implementation of the fraccing and perforating job. Responsible for reporting to management of operational problems and solutions, costs for operations and accomplishments of the team.
This position entailed building and managing a horizontal drilling and completion program as directed by the VP of Operations. Involved in building a team of geologists, engineers, and land men to accomplish the goals set out by upper management. The department grew and evolved because of our successes until I had 28 consultants, 2 drilling engineers, 2 completion engineers, 8 drilling rigs, 4-6 completion and work overs projects reporting to me on a daily basis. I was also responsible for making recommendation for the procurement of drilling rigs, cementing and fracturing services, tubing and wellhead design. Responsible for the timely reporting to management of all costs, operational problems and the solutions to be implemented, budget and its presentation.
Duties included the direct supervision of perforating, fraccing, cleanout via coiled tubing and installation of down hole production assemblies. Assisted in the design and running of various completion liner assemblies,. Assisted production department in building of new facilities and upgrading others to handle large high pressure volumes of oil, gas and water.
Partner and operations manger. My duties included directing daily drilling, completion and production activities of the company. This included reporting of production, working with the various state and federal agencies to make sure we were in compliance with the rules and regulations pertaining to the drilling and completion, transportation of oil, gas and disposal of water in Texas and New Mexico.
Responsible for the operation of our commercial gas gathering and pipeline system in New Mexico including complying with air quality standards of our compressors, and pipeline water saturation levels to ensure the continuous selling of our gathered gas.
As partner, I was actively involved in the evaluation, due diligence and preparation of offers to buy various properties that would enhance our value of the company.
Worked as a field operations manager drilling, completing and working over wells primarily for Midland Oil and Gas reporting to their VP of Engineering. Assisted in the procurement of casing, tubing, down hole and surface production equipment and the installation of them.
Responsible for the day to day optimizing production of the approximate 100 wells in my area, selling of oil and gas and disposal of water while complying with all the rules and regulations of the Texas RRC, New Mexico OCC and BLM.
Reassigned to managing the operation of batteries, compressors and wells in the swamp outside of Butte La Rose, La. and the offshore bay area of Coquille Bay, La. while complying with the Offshore Rules of the BLM, Dept. of Wildlife Management, EPA and Louisana Oil and Gas Commission.

Worked for various companies drilling and completing vertical wells from 2400' to 23,500' in the high pressure areas of inland Texas Gulf Coast of Matagorda Bay, Cotton Valley wells in East Texas, and South Texas around Laredo, Texas.
Responsible for the direct drilling and completion supervision in the high pressure areas of Mentone, Pecos and Ft. Stockton, Texas. Depths ranged from 17,500' to 29,761' ( holds the record for the deepest cased hole in Texas and the 1st to set a conventional whip stock at 17,250')
Responsible for the direct supervision of day to day activities assigned by the drilling superintendent in the areas that I was assigned. My areas in Texas included Crane, Goldsmith, Manahan's and Wink. In New Mexico, wells in Eddy , Lea and San Juan Counties. Depths of vertical wells ranged from 2800'- 17,500'.
The basis of my knowledge came from attending numerous Gulf schools including their 7 week school that included basic well design, BHA design, BOP Certification, deviated well design. Later schools focused on cementing, snubbing, down hole logging tools their use and interpretation of logs and casing design.
Duties included providing drilling fluid products and services to various assigned oil companies as needed and recommended to safely and economically provide a well bore that could be cased and completed. Promoted to Technical Sales Engineer responsible for writing and presenting drilling fluid programs to oil and gas companies and providing technical assistance to the field engineers on problem wells.
Emphasis on the chemistry and physics of soils and that pertains to crop growth, quality of crop, water usage of crops and maximizing of yields in arid soils.
