With 24 years of experience in the construction business, Todd Shives founded Kitchen Traditions of Colorado in 2011. The company offers individualized design solutions with the mission statement “service is a relationship, not a department.” Based in Denver, the company provides services to the areas of Metro Denver, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, and the entire Rocky Mountains region. Kitchen Traditions of Colorado takes pride in it service not only as a traditional cabinet supplier, but as a design studio devoted to creating beautiful and unique spaces. As the business owner and president, Todd Shives keeps busy with handling tasks such as project management, procurement, design, and customer service. He also makes time to manage and facilitate the day-to-day routine of the company’s design showroom.In 1990, Todd Shives graduated from Tampa Technical Institute in Florida with an Associate’s degree in Applied Science, Computer-aided Drafting, and Design Technology. He started his career in Lake Placid, Florida, with Creative Builders and Supply, Inc., doing business as Caladium Fine Cabinetry, from 1988 to 1997. The company’s primary roles were as a residential building contractor, a high-end cabinet manufacturer, and a certified Corian fabricator. Here, he began as an apprentice and worked his way up to production and sales manager posts. For the next eight years, Shives served as General Manager/Sales in Naples, Florida, for Downsview Kitchens of Naples. He performed additional duties as head of the company’s design/build remodel division, handling project management plans. Subsequently, he joined Tradewind Designs, Inc., as a Sales Designer and partner until 2011. Shives was able to hone his craft in these companies, especially at the two latter ones that were dedicated to kitchen and bath design.When he has free time, Todd Shives enjoys camping, dirt bike riding, fishing, and spending time with his family.
