2010 - 2012

Dean of Academics

Lindenwood University

Was an active change agent in all career roles; includes transitioning one University to cloud technology – online textbooks – the largest school to do so at the time, saving student body $500K per semester.

As Dean, oversaw an $8M budget with 39 direct reports and ~1400 student body population.

Established a groundbreaking Office of Student Success, boosting student retention for one employer from 60% to 83%.

Through the expansion of programs, housing options, and athletic teams, along with active listening and a personal, honest approach, shot enrollment up 50% in 24 months, increasing revenue by $5.5M.

Founded and supported faculty governance for the first time.

Humanized the Dean’s office to serve students and staff and established a broad base of support when decisions were implemented.

Within two years, successfully expanded academic divisions from 2 to 6 and academic programs skyrocketed from 6 to 20.

Competed in a local market with 3 other schools, outgrew them all in programs and student population.

2007 - 2009

Director of Entrepreneurship

Metropolitan Community College

Managed $250K school budget for a campus of 1,300 faculty members and 44,000 students.

Created first inter-campus academic program and found ways to bridge all 5 campuses.

Personally raised $250K through fundraising programs for the school after budget was cut.

Worked closely with urban, intercity and suburban schools and found creative ways to meet all individual needs.

Developed an entrepreneurship center downtown including a business center.

2009 - 2009

Chief Academic Officer

Missouri Valley College

As Chief Academic Officer, oversaw 100+ direct reports with 1500 students and a budget of $13M.

Visionary leader with a practical perspective and solid experience; takes personal ownership attitude in leading operations and brings out the best in diverse personalities to move business forward.

Managed staff of 100 employees that all directly reported to me.

Developed a standardized formal evaluation process where all staff members were evaluated on the same criteria.

Successfully met all budget demands for hiring personnel and was acknowledged by President for meeting monthly goals.

2001 - 2007

Associate Professor/Director

Missouri Western State University

Created entrepreneurship experiential learning course as capstone for business students.

Developed marketing business plan free of service for small businesses.

Responsible for advising over 50 business students a year.

Founded and created the St. Joseph Business Resource Council, a group made up of small business bankers, government lenders and non-profit assistance groups.

Wrote a grant to create a computer lab for students to have a resource center on campus.
