Timothy Shields, Stanford

Timothy Shields performs a variety of important leadership functions in his work at Union Bank Switzerland. Prior to beginning at UBS, Timothy Shields worked at Deloitte & Touche, as well as investment banking firm JP Morgan. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.

Among Tim Shields' areas of expertise are contracts and cost improvement. For example, he focused on software license management at UBS to maximize the company’s utilization of licensing contracts. In addition, he worked to help the company reduce costs and increase efficiency through business process outsourcing. He transitioned services from internal to third party managed, with efforts including strategy, process design, transition, and cutover. His success with these and similar efforts led to a Chief of Staff role to the UBS Chief Information Officer, a critical position for development of the organization’s long-term vision.

In addition to his work at Union Bank Switzerland, Tim Shields is active in his community. Since 2007, he has been on the board of directors at Morningside Academy, a Montessori school located in Oak Park, Illinois. He has also volunteered at the Working in the Schools (WITS) program in Chicago.
