Job DescriptionIn 2009, Tigist returned to New York City where she met the award winning writer, director and producer Nelson George (Good Hair), who asked her to write and act in her first feature film called 'Left Unsaid', which premiered at HBO's American Black Film Festival in 2010. The same year, Tigist was officially selected as the face of Ethiopia's leading lifestyle magazine, 'Tadias' and has interviewed prominent Ethiopians along with pioneering filmmaker Haile Gerima. In 2011, Nelson George asked her to be the lead in his international feature film under the working title 'Migration(s)' alongside Chris Rock, Melvin Van Peebles, Roger Guenveur Smith, Saul Williams and many more which is currently in production. In January of 2012, she has been selected as an official board member of Ethiopia Reads, which aspires to create a reading culture in Ethiopia one book at a time and was previously honored with the CNN Hero award.
