An ambitious entrepreneur with many interests, the foundation of Thomas Mengesha’s skills lies in his education. Thomas Mengesha on holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminal Justice, a Master of Public Administration, and a Juris Doctor, and is admitted to practice law in the state of Michigan. After obtaining legal certification in 1998, Thomas Mengesha founded his independent law practice, The Mengesha Firm, PC, which covers several aspects of the law, including sports and entertainment law, family law, and estate planning. Apart from his legal practice, Thomas Mengesha currently serves on the faculty of American InterContinental University as an Adjunct Professor, teaching business law and business ethics to young businesspeople of the future. Thomas Mengesha's courses center on challenges and constraints for companies in the United States and the European Union, as well as the ethical framework of business in a multinational setting. Mr. Mengesha also pursues his passion for the arts as an actor through the Productions Plus agency, which booked him for parts in stage plays and commercials. Some of his acting experience includes roles in commercials for the Ford Motor Company, Art Vann Furniture, and Red Top Inn. Thomas Mengesha has also appeared in stage plays such as Shades of War and Counselor Jones. In addition to his work in the fields of law, education, and acting, Thomas Mengesha gained valuable experience by serving his country in the United States Army Reserve for 25 years. Joining in 1983, Mengesha was awarded a number of medals for his service and completed several tours of duty, deploying to such locations as Panama, South Korea, and, most recently, Iraq during the war theater of operations in 2006 to 2008. As a Captain in the Army Reserve, Thomas Mengesha was responsible for the coordination of the United States Central Command Rest & Recuperation (R&R) Leave Program. He helped implement policies in support of the R&R system and mitigated negative impact on the program. After his retirement from the military in 2009, Thomas Mengesha penned and published The Service Member's Guide to Deployment: What Every Soldier, Sailor, Airman, and Marine Should Know Prior to Being Deployed, in which he explains the process of deployment and possibilities of governmental aid for families of deployed soldiers.
