Summary

I'm a theatre professional with an extensive and unique set of skills. 

My experience as a director includes professional summer stock, college, community and high school theatre.  I have taught and developed acting classes and workshops for all ages and abilities.  I can bring a group together and make theatre- really good theatre- happen just about anytime, anywhere!

I develop and teach theatre classes and workshops for people of all ages and abilities.  I can take any group, in any space, and fashion a unique, creative experience using theatre games and improvisation.  I also teach tradtional acting and scene study classes and work as a personal acting coach.

Upward Bound Academic Advisor

Rochester Community and Technical College

Developed and implemented academic and recreational programming for 50 at-risk high school students.  The program consisted of weekly tutoring sessions, monthly all-day Saturday sessions, and a six-week residential summer session, which included a week-long trip.  Hired and supervised tutors, instructors and resident assistants.  Wrote two successful federal grant applications.

Taught Basic and Advanced Acting, Acting for the Camera, and  Improvisation to children and adults.  Coached child and teen actors for competition at six semi-annual International Model and Talent Association (IMTA) conventions. 

Significant accomplishment:  Three students were first place winners in their age division, two in the sitcom competition and one in "I'm Ready for my Closeup", a one-liner competition.

In this position, I used skills in curriculum development, teaching, mentoring and student management.  I developed and taught a summer drama class for children with traumatic brain injury.  I also worked as a long term private acting coach for a teen with traumatic brain injury. 

Significant accomplishment: My teen mentee developed the skills and confidence needed to audition, get cast, and sucessfully perform in serveral community theatre plays.

In this position, I used skills in curriculum development, teaching and student management. I developed and taught acting classes for teens with developmental disabilities, including autism and Down Syndrome. 

Significant accomplishment: Three teen with developmental disabilities boys performed a 10-minute original play combining monologues and improvisation for an audience of 50 parents, students and community members.

As Teen Club advisor, I developed activities for and supervised a weekly recreational club for young people with developmental disabilities.
