Tom is a senior level executive with 28 years of management experience. Tom spent 22 years at a major financial services company in a variety of management and executive positions within the trust and investment management business groups. Since starting his own firm in 2001, he has worked with a variety of companies in various stages of transition or distress. Tom brings extensive financial services industry experience and a multi-faceted background of change and transition management.

Work experience



Cordes & Company, LLC

Provide interim and transitional management services to distressed companies. Representative engagements include:

·President, Minnesota-based benefits consulting firm. Led and managed five business practices with primary responsibility for developing a long-term business strategy.

·Interim President, CEO and board member of Phoenix-based Security Trust Company, N.A., a $13 billion national bank/trust company. Fiduciary Associate provided an interim management team. The company's operating assets were sold, other assets and liabilities were resolved and settlements were reached with numerous regulatory agencies saving investors over $10 million in operating expense.

·Interim President, CEO and board member of Capital Management Investors Holdings, Inc., and investment firm holding company. This firm was reorganized and prepped for liquidation.

·Board member and executive management consultant to Renaissance Administration LLC, an Indianapolis-based trust administrative company. A long-term business strategy was developed.




An E-distribution, research and consulting firm providing sales and marketing product and services to financial advisors. This company was sold to CBSMarketwatch in March, 2004.



President, Institutional Trust and Custody Division, 2000-2001

Institutional Trust and Custody was U.S. Bancorp's division providing retirement plan products and institutional custodial services. The business had 800 employees in forty offices located in nineteen states. Annual revenues exceeded $200 million with assets under administration exceeding $300 billion.

Chief Executive Officer, First American Asset Management, 1998-2000

First American Asset Management was U.S. Bancorp's asset management business with $80 billion in assets under management. This business had 750 employees in twenty offices located in ten states. Annual revenues exceeded $150 million.

Executive Vice President, First American Asset Management, 1996-1998

Managed the sales, relationship management, product management, marketing, high net worth portfolio management, client services and operations functions for First American Asset Management. Annual revenues exceeded $80 million.
