About Ted Doran

Ted Doran, the managing partner at Doran Sims Wolfe & Ciocchetti, is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Law. He has considerable experience in civil litigation and family law. Over the course of a legal career spanning nearly 35 years, Ted Doran has also become skilled in representing government entities and other organizations in complex legal matters.

Mr. Doran has defended multiple state agencies in several of the largest claims ever filed against the state of Florida. He secured a jury verdict valued at more than $18 million in favor of the state as the receiver of a failed medical malpractice self-insurance fund, as well as a $15 million judgment on behalf of the state as a receiver in 2015, the third-largest sum awarded in a Florida receivership case.

In addition, Ted Doran has spent the last 13 years as general counsel for the School Board of Volusia County, Florida. He also represented the School Board of Volusia County as well as the School Board of Monroe County in both the Second Judicial Circuit Court and the First District Court of Appeal when the counties challenged Florida school district cost differentials as calculated by the Department of Education.
