Developed over 3 millions lines of code for Hitachi, NEC and Unisys: enterprise level software development tools. Developed new computer hardware and operating systems.
Software Quality AssuranceCreated the culture necessary to satisfy Japanese client’s demand for zero defect software. Developed products with measured quality better than HP or IBM. Personally wrote detailed test plans and procedures unique to each product, did extensive manual testing, coded test program and test data generators, coded thousands of test programs, and developed bug tracking software.
Policy and Procedure DefinitionAs the first employee hired at a startup company, built a development team that did $4M annual revenue of contract software development. Setup the initial company policies and procedures, benefits and employee handbook. Defined development standards and procedures. Negotiated, wrote and administered contracts. Very low turnover; half the employees stayed over 10 years.
Overseas CollaborationManaged joint development with groups in the U.K. and Japan for 27 years. Learned to communicate effectively, mostly in writing, with people in different cultures, speaking different languages, in non-overlapping time zones.
AccountingSolely responsible for payables, receivables, financial statements, bank reconciliations and benefit administration. Handle payroll for 20 employees using ADP EasyPayNet software. Initiated, contracted and setup cafeteria plan and online donations. Administer medical and dependent care flexible spending accounts, 403B, life, health and disability insurance. Rewrote personnel policies. Develop portions of church web-site.
