New $150 million LVL Plant, in Torzhok, Russia, involving detailed design engineering, construction management, and start-up assistance as follows.

  • Plant layouts and integration of process equipment centers
  • Electrical coordination of plant wide control systems and equipment operation
  • P&ID and functional descriptions
  • Specifications for new plant machine centers
  • Detailed designed of equipment interconnecting components
  • Tendered bids and specifications to fabricators and vendors
  • Evaluated fabricator and vendor bids and schedules
  • Coordinated fabrication and container export shipping requirements
  • Field construction management of multi-cultural equipment/constructor teams
  • Coordination between plant general contractor, owners, and vendors

  • Design of mechanical storage and reclaim conveyors, belts, chains, and screws
  • Detailed design of all wood yard mechanical systems
  • Re-design of Zurn boiler fuel stokers
  • Structural modifications of existing supports and new supports and foundations
  • Specifications for new and modifications to existing equipment
  • Coordination of fabricators and field crews

Charcoal Briquetting Plant Fast Track Re-Start for Clorox Corporation Kingsford Division, 4MM, 3-Month Process.

  • Field data and dimensional data collection for existing equipment
  • Removal and replacement of 3 storage silos incorporating new explosion venting
  • Rebuilt and added 30-feet to silo infeed bucket elevator
  • Removed existing silo infeed conveyors and replaced with new chutes
  • Rebuilt silo internal distribution structures
  • Relocated existing dryer outfeed conveyors and added additional length
  • Added new primary structural supports for silos
  • Demolition of all damaged equipment and installation of new access

This program prepares the graduate to work on many levels in the engineering and manufacturing world.  Exposure to a variety of engineering disciplines including mechanical, structural, architectural, piping, electrical and power technology.  They create working drawings from sketches or layouts prepared by engineers and designers.  Expected to make engineering computations involved with layout, dimensioning and detailing of machine and structural parts.  On the design level, they calculate stresses, size members of structural components and mechanical parts, do layout work for drafters to follow, write technical reports and supervise drafting groups.  All AAS degrees will articulate into the Bachelor of Applied Technology.
