Since 1980s, I have been involved in Public Health quantitative and, to smaller extent, qualitative research related to various aspects of NCDs prevention and control including Tobacco Control and other psychoactive substances use, HIV and other infectious diseases as well as behavioral and social epidemiology issues. I have also tried to contribute to the development of Public Health and Epidemiology education and research in the countries of the former Soviet Union and in the understanding of factors that slow down this development.
