  • M-Tech Final Year Project: A Rough Granular Approach for Estimating Lightning Location

                                                 in a Non-Radial Power System using Fast Walsh-Hadamard                                                        

                                                 Transform    

 

             Supervisor:   Mr. Aritra Dasgupta (Assistant Professor, AEIE Dept, NSEC)

Description:  The thesis proposes a method of Estimating Lightning Location in a Non-Radial  

                       Power System using Fast Walsh-Hadamard Transform based on rough set theory.

                       First a non-radial power system network is drawn in the ATP Draw software. Then                                         

                       transient analysis is performed by using an impulse current generator. Then the   

                       voltage waveforms (with base value as 220kV) are called in Matlab software,

                       where the FWHT have been applied on them. Then statistical parameters are used

                       to generate a table, which is used as an information system in rough set to finally

                       estimate the lightning location. Here training and testing method is used in rough

                       set theory for this experiment.

                                                                     

 

  • B-Tech Final Year Project: Design of a Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT).

             Supervisor:   Dr. Shyamal Kumar Ghosh (Prof., EE Dept, CIEM)

             Description:  A LVDT has been designed and voltage is supplied to the primary and the output is                            

                                    observed at the secondary terminals. The output voltages were also noted                                                    

                                    depending on the displacement of the core.
