Internal Communications

I am adept at writing and developing content for employee newsletters, policy briefs, staff announcements and job descriptions.   I have served on planning committees for large United Way campaigns, drives and other internal company campaigns, handling the communications needs and consulting with internal departments.

Digital Media/Social Media Program Management

In my last role at Huper Optik USA, I developed the company's inaugural presence on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook, and also wrote the official policy.  I wrote seo press releases, and was responsible for posting daily/weekly content on each site:  content that helped advance the company's goals to build new relationships with product evangelists, and to bring new dealers on board.   While at HISD, I also developed content for the official HISD Blog, and wrote content for the Business Operations website.  The link below features articles and press releases that I wrote.   http://www.houstonisd.org/HISDConnectDS/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=a6be6a929d6df210VgnVCM10000028147fa6RCRD&_displaylogin=false&vgnextrefresh=1

Event Planning

I have over ten years' experience in planning and executing events for corporate and non-profit agencies.  The events range in nature from major fundraising dinners, to national sales meetings, to facility tours and events, to private donor dinners.   I am also adept at handling the communications planning and needs for each event, including pre-event publicity, and securing event media coverage, and post-event media placement.

Media Relations

I have experience cultivating media contacts, developing pitches, and executing media outreach events, such as tours and luncheons.   In my last role, I also cultivated virtual influencers on behalf of my company's brand, including bloggers and other writers.

A summary of my accomplishments includes the following:

-Developed and implemented strategic communications plan for K-12 bond program for 7th largest district in the country, resulting in increased awareness of bond projects, as verified by earned media reporting

-Managed marketing library of over 55,000 pieces, including tracking, inventory management, and re-orders, with annual back-orders of less than 2%

-Managed creative process and design teams for the production of award-winning trade show graphics, annual reports, brochures and product specification sheets

-Planned successful media breakfasts and luncheons, targeting news decision-makers at two different non-profit agencies, resulting in increased media coverage of agency events and programs.

To secure a position with a forward-thinking, results-driven organization that allows me to use my skills as an integrated marketing communications specialist with experience in content management, digital and social media content development, event planning, public relations and marketing collateral production.

My interests include blogging, reading, doll-collecting, and spending time with friends and family.  I am also a Toastmaster, active in the All Star Toastmasters Club in Southwest Houston.
