Personal note

I am a loyal and enthusiastic 28 year old Capetonian, born and bred in the mother city. I have a passion for children, animals and the more creative aspects of life.

I believe in a simplified life approach - life is about living and enjoying quality time with your loved ones - this is a motto that I try to live by.

My strengths revolve around attention to detail, being empathetic, organised but I am also very in tune with people’s feelings and sensitive to situations around me. The hospitality industry taught me a great deal, both from a work and life perspective. This, coupled with my current Lead Course Coach role, I believe, has equipped me to handle any curveballs or stresses that the au pairing environment might throw at me. My current role as Lead Coach shows my love for mentoring and assisting others - which is where my love for education comes in. I hope to one day use the skills that I have obtained to help teenagers with their life choices, within a school context.

Lead Course Coach


I play a lead role in the Coaching function of the Learner Performance Department. I oversee coaches communication strategies and ensure that coaches are driving student performance and meeting set performance standards. A large amount of my day is now focused on development and training. Ensure procedures are followed and that communication within the team and between relevant departments is fluid. This includes the day-to-day operational management of designated team members.

Lobster Ink is the hospitality education system that educates staff and management within the hospitality industry worldwide, using the most detailed, high-definition courses on international skills, international standards and product knowledge. My role as an Educationist in the Education department involves creating content and working collaboratively with the Production team to build bespoke, online courses for various hospitality establishments.

GetSmarter is a high-touch online education company that works together with top universities and industry experts. As Head of the Learning Platform, my responsibilities include overseeing and project managing any new development work on our learning platforms, as well as being the 'communication centre' between our Content Production and Systems & Technology departments.

I completed my 6 months Rooms Division practical at this 4 star establishment in Newlands, Cape Town. This establishment was a wonderful one to experience first hand the type of quality management that should be more more commonly found in this industry. I was fortunate enough to spend my training in departments such as revenue management, marketing and human resources where I took on various junior supervisory positions.

I completed my 6 months Food & Beverage practical training at this 5 star establishment in Cape Town. This establishment prides itself on delivering nothing less than the best. This was an amazing growth experience, of which I learnt the finer skills of 5 star service. 

Childcare Work History

Mentor & Youth group leader (2009 - 2011)

I have been an active youth group leader and mentor for grade 12 girls, and now more recently grade 8 girls, at Southpoint Church for the past three years. 

Babysitting - Robinson family (2009)

I was a babysitter for the Robinson family - for two girls ages 6 and 8. This involved dinner supervision and bedtime routine.

Au Pair - Kenilworth family (2008)

I was the au pair for a family of two boys (ages 7 and 9) in Kenilworth for 6 months, whilst the mother pursued her career as an artist. This involved doing homework supervision with both boys, supper assistance and bedtime routine.

Ad hoc babysitting

I have always been involved in some form of babysitting capacity over the years. The youngest being a newborn of just under a year, to primary and high school level.
