As one of the only three students sponsored and selected from India, I collaborated with a team working on the iterative synthesis of nanomedicines. Primary work involved testing, screening and characterization of polymeric membranes in a pressurized equipment for the same. Analysed the retentate and permeate compositions and set up an efficient rig for diafilteration of oligonucleotide mixtures. Was able to efficiently prepare samples and characterize various membranes tested.
Project aimed at identifying trans-membrane domains in a protein by extracting audio signals from a music file created on MATLAB. Protein monomers (amino acids) were mapped onto musical notes using their hydropathy index in a consistently random manner using the method of minimum deviation. Music files were also created with the aim of extending the knowledge of proteins to the visually challenged.
Made with a team of four members a mechanical fruit plucker to address the woes of tree climbers plucking fruits.
