System Engineer (Turbine / Generator / Auxiliaries and Controls): Develop a detailed understanding of assigned system(s) technical and licensing requirements, as well as maintenance and operation practices to ensure optimal system performance. Maintain an awareness of technical issues, design changes, performance problems, operating experience issues, work orders, long-term improvements plans, etc. associated with assigned systems. Ensure they are prioritized and planned in a timely manner. Provide technical assistance and input to other departments regarding system problems, design changes, procedures and testing. Monitor and evaluate system performance and initiate corrective actions as necessary. Maintain overall responsibility for monitoring and trending programs as they apply to assigned systems. These programs may include, but are not limited to, IST, Maintenance Rule, Appendix J, MOV, Heat Exchanger thermal performance testing.Power Ascension Test Engineer for Extended Power Uprate responsible for development, performance and review for acceptance of extensive and complex testing associated with a 20% extended power uprate.

Act as focal point for coordinating interdepartmental resources on technical issues.

Supervise in field Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrument & Control trades in the construction, operation, maintenance and overhaul of complex systems and components. Responsible for Development and Implementation of the “Maintenance Rule” Program (IOCFR5O.65) to ensure that maintenance of plant structures, systems and components are performed in accordance with Government Regulations. Provide engineering support to operations and maintenance departments for power generation and support systems including standby emergency diesel generator systems. Responsible for monitoring, testing and trending system performance to maximize system availability and reliability Act as focal point for coordinating interdepartmental resources on technical issues. Developed and implemented an Emergency Diesel Generator Reliability Program which ensures the EDG is operated and maintained at the highest levels of reliability.

Shift Test Engineer - NMPI Power Ascension Test Program Responsible for interfacing with Shift Supervisor in directing plant operations personnel in support of test program. Coordination of various test activities on shift and integrating the test program in conjunction with operation of the station. Acting as Test Director for various Power Ascension and Performance Test Programs Emergency Diesel Generator Owners Group Representative Act as the Niagara Mohawk Power Corporations representative to the EMD Power Systems Emergency Diesel Generator Owners Group.

Provide technical support to operations and maintenance personnel on systems and components. Developed a feedwater reliability program which allowed startup of two units without any feedwater related plant trips. Coordinate the review, approval implementation and testing of plant modifications and design changes. Monitor, test and trend major plant systems to ensure optimum system reliability.

Developed and implemented a feedwater reliability program to ensure feedwater system reliability for 2 1250 MWE PWR nuclear power plants that resulted in both unit startups successfully completed with no feedwater realted trips.
