Responsible for enforcing park rules and regulations, coordinating and executing trail maintenance projects for over 20 miles of trails, recruiting volunteers, assisting in search and rescue operations, as well as providing customer service and information about the park.

Licensed Maine Sea Kayak Guide. Planned, prepared, and led groups of up to 12 people on kayak trips in Casco Bay Maine. On shore I provided help scheduling trips, processing customer payments, customer service, and moving literal tons of kayaks.

Carpenter's Helper

Worked on a team with professional carpenters doing remodels/renovations and new construction in residential and commercial settings along the southern coast of Maine. Typical duties ranged (often daily) to include: Demolition, exterior work (walls/trim/siding/roofing), interior work (framing/sheet rock/insulation/etc), paying close attention to detail, following instructions clearly, and showing up on time, every time.

Crew Leader

Maine Conservation Corps Hallowell, ME

Provided leadership to a crew of 6 young adults on 9 day hitches working on hiking trails throughout Maine. Was responsible for safely facilitating all aspects of trail building including: Rigging of rocks and supplies using a Griphoist system, live and hazard tree removal using chainsaws and axes. Managed projects to fit sponsors budget and schedule. Operated state vehicles, backing/loading/hooking up trailers. Was also responsible for training team members on all aspects of trail building, back country living and workplace safety.

Worked as a kayak trip leader driving 12+ children and their boats on multi-day/night kayak trips in Northern New Hampshire. Provided direct supervision and leadership. Planned 4+ days worth of food, supplies, and logistics for 12+youth. Performed maintenance on boats and bicycles. Created Emergency Response Plans.

Trail work

Experience in new trail construction including Americans with Disabilities Act approved trails, recreational, and bike trails. Experience in all aspects of trail maintenance and rehabilitation; stone steps, stone retaining walls, side hill, water bars, drain dips, turnpikes, bog bridges, benches, wooden bridges, corridor work. Experience with chainsaws, tampers, weed whackers, brush saws, pick mattocks along with several other power and hand tools associated with trail work. 

Carpentry  

Demolition, framing, making precise and accurate cuts, interior/exterior trim, siding (plank/vinyl/cedar), roofing(shingling/underlayment), insulation, interior/exterior walls(sheathing,underlayment,blocking, strapping), reading prints, painting, taking/reading measurements accurately, using levels, speed squares, compasses, etc. 

Outdoor Education

Certified Wilderness First Responder, have responded to outdoor emergencies/missing persons searches. Leave No Trace Trainer certified. Have taught camp life skills (fire building, tarp set up, camp site set up, hygiene, etc), blacksmithing, orienteering, bike maintenance, kayaking, canoeing, and rock climbing.
