About Susan Lampinen

For nearly three decades Susan Lampinen has served as an automotive design specialist for some of the world’s most recognized and successful brands, including Chrysler and Mercedes Benz. Since 1999 she has worked as a designer at Ford Motor Company, specializing in color and material design. For the last nine years she has held the position of group chief designer for color and materials. In this role Susan Lampinen manages design work for both the Ford and Lincoln brands.

Ms. Lampinen attended the College for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit, Michigan. During her time at the school she focused her studies on transportation design, graduating with a bachelor of fine arts. Outside of her work with Ford Motor Company, Susan Lampinen contributes to local animal shelters and has become known for adopting and personally caring for a shelter’s most in-need animals. Some of her additional personal interests include reading and writing, cooking, attending social events and fundraisers, and staying active with sports like weight lifting and water skiing.
