Deloitte GES compliance, mobility and reward services are delivered through GlobalAdvantage which has enabled a $1BN global business to-date. Tax is becoming a commoditised business and the mobility and reward space is demanding integrated technology services that are user-centric given the evolution workforce agility. Sunny has led digital transformation initiatives within Deloitte to bring new products to manage this industry shift and led strategies to inform business and technology change, as well leading the UK technology practice

Global Digital Transformation Program Leader 

Led the transformation strategy to create a technology platform scalable to support GES 2020 goals of becoming a $2BN practice:

  • Secured year-on-year investment (~$23.5M YTD) as the budget to fund transformation projects - global resourcing, infrastructure, vendors - from multiple sources, in parallel to changing the long term technology investment model
  • Articulated and managed strategic and tactical technology goals through the first ever market facing roadmap outlining Deloitte's technology strategy resulting in a well-informed growth and markets team and secured notable client wins, specifically within Immigration
  • Leveraged strategic global resourcing delivery models of commodity and high value vendors to scale for market demand and transformation goals achieving speed-to-market, resourcing agility / elasticity and cost optimisation
  • Created eminence of digital transformation vision (integration, automation and user experience) by presenting regularly to over 5,000 Deloitte professionals preparing both GES network and market for the upcoming change - Sunny is the key go between the global business and technology delivery team

Driven innovation agenda across the GES practice by leading multiple initiatives bringing new products to market and delivering efficiencies within Deloitte

  • Defined and executed the long term vision for a new product changing how Deloitte collates clients employee data to enable compliance and mobility services
  • Launched a proof of concept / pilot that validates the product direction and goals with market feedback from a leading consumer goods client resulting in high volumes of interest across the Deloitte network and market - the product is included and presented within every bid, with clients competing to be part of the pilot
  • Submitted a winning idea to Tax Innovation to bring to market a new mobile application using crowd sourcing as the delivery model
  • Identified across the Tax business as a key innovator and disruptor. Currently, Sunny is a 'champion' for Robotic Process Automation (RPA)  - leading awareness and running experiments to generate ideas among professionals for how they could use and commercialise RPA

Transformed GES's technology investment model incentivising global sales through the member firm network, increasing available budget for BAU and transformation activities from 1.5% to 3% of global revenue, resulting in long term sustainable funding and margin improvement

  • New investment model yielded margins increase of revenues by ~41% through cost optimisation and re-assignment of costs to global funding. Optimised technology related headcount costs through redeployment, re-organisation and performance management measures achieving cost reduction of ~53% (£2.3M)
  • Launched a global technology cost model that outlined all headcount, infrastructure and third party costs by product and location. Subsequently, this resulted in a restructured financial reporting process across UK and US firms illustrating profitability of products and informing price-to-market
  • Redesigned technology pricing model and principles to create a pricing strategy to flex margins based on market sensitivities thereby increasing volume of proactive go-to-market business by Deloitte member firms

UK Technology Business Lead (strategy and operations)

Led and managed the UK strategy and operations for a team of 25 people composed of product owners, project managers, business analysts, developers and testers

  • Managed technology revenue plan setting with UK partnership and finance teams to manage revenue impact and restructured financial reporting
  • Aligned globally developed processes (PMO and product roadmaps) within the UK practice, rolling out governance structures and created new role definitions to align to a global technology organisation structure
  • Defined a technology specific talent agenda and career development framework to align the technology skill set as well as acting in the capacity of performance manager and coach for 5 individuals resulting in positive feedback and promotions

Client Engagement Lead - GlobalAdvantage

Led RFP / bid and implementation process for clients within ERP, social media, consumer goods and broadcast space, for Deloitte's GA Incentives offering (tax withholding calculation engine for equity and cash based incentives)

  • Personally requested by the buyer at a leading social media client to lead the transition and delivery of Immigration technology following oral presentations
  • Managed upsell of £150k in out-of-scope requests across multiple clients within a year through thorough scope management
  • Identified and sold a consult project opportunity to resolve a manual downstream financial reporting challenge during a technology implementation resulting in additional fees of £10k
  • Redefined the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and created a release management process that enabled transparency to global sales teams to manage implementations within given time frame

As a market leading recruitment business, Michael Page sought to transform their core underlying technology for sales, advertising and billing investing over ~£40M. Sunny led the transformation efforts for the advertising technology and the creation of the PMO within the business technology practice

Advertising Program Manager

Led the consolidation of all global advertising solutions into a single bespoke platform, managing a global team of business analysts, architects, developers and third party vendors. Defined and negotiated the program scope through global business stakeholder forums as well as the roll-out strategy

  • Implemented a phased enhancement strategy to manage global stakeholder concerns around current state functionality loss and impact to local business process
  • Led the RFP and on boarding process to transition out an underperforming third party development vendor redefining quality gates and maintaining project timescales

Program Management Office Manager

Managed the setup of a PMO during program initiation to support over 10 project managers to ensure effective governance across all work streams and to track benefits realisation through delivery

  • Created and delivered all project governance processes (scheduling, change control and financial reporting). Created the basis for project effort and cost estimations which in turn fed into the financial reporting and reconciliation process
  • Leveraged Earned Value Management (EVM) monitor the planned delivery vs. actual delivery against budget to report on program performance
  • Defined the baseline strategy for managing development and testing environments - core to running several development work streams across the entire program

BT Wholesale brings to market disruptive products and services, of which BT Movio (mobile TV on the move) was a commercially launched proposition. Sunny led multiple initiatives across operations, marketing and business development from product development / market trials through to the commercial launch to market

Project Consultant

  • Youngest presenter of the BT Movio mobile TV capabilities at key global industry events, namely 3GSM and IBC generating content provider leads to sign on the platform
  • Led a BT wide advocacy program for the executive board to own a mobile TV device to generate eminence and champion the product amongst influential business leaders
  • Project managed a UK government led trial comparing competing broadcasting technologies (DAB vs. DVB-H), partaking in industry committee discussions about the benefits and investment required for the DAB network
  • Operationalised first, second and third line support processes in a live environment within the BT Tower as well as on boarding all tier-one Electronic Program Guide data providers on to the platform
