I have been managing successful integrated marketing communications programs for over 15 years. These programs have always involved online marketing. In the mid-90s, at a small biotechnology company offering cancer genetic testing, we used the web to enhance our direct mail program. Since we knew we couldn't answer every question about our services in a brochure or letter, we created online materials to supplement our direct mail and trade show efforts. At Essex Property Trust, I worked with over 100 individual property managers and a database consultant to build a tool that would allow the property managers to post ads to Craigslist that maintained a strong brand image but allowed them the flexibility to be creative with what made their property stand out. We also launched new landing pages for the 100+ properties. At EMQ FamiliesFirst, my primary responsibility has been our online marketing efforts. These have included our main web site and several micro-sites, search engine marketing, search engine optimization and social media (Facebook and Twitter).

Essex Property Trust manages over 100 apartment communities, and it was my responsibility to manage the marketing efforts for the properties along with the individual apartment community managers and regional sales teams. In addition to printed materials, we also implemented an online ordering system to streamline ordering operations for Essex-branded marketing materials and other items (letterhead, business cards, signs, etc.). Milestones: * Created system to allow property managers to easily create and upload enhanced Craigslists ads that reinforced individual community branding and allowed uploading of pictures. * Launched new web sites for all 100+ properties.

As a marketing communications specialist for a high-technology / telecommunications equipment manufacturer, I was responsible for a broad range of marketing communications activities. I was originally hired as a specialist with a focus in online / web projects, but gradually took on other responsibilities. Worked with internal IT staff, design agencies and freelancers on development of primary corporate web site and several extranets for customers, channel partners and others. One of the main projects was the launch of several international portals that all contained localized content. Additionally, I was responsible for the creation and maintenance of multiple collateral items, including data sheets, brochures, RFPs, white papers and technical briefs.

As Customer Service Coordinator for Ernst & Young, I worked across product teams to handle incoming requests for design, word processing, and production and assigned them to staff in the San Francisco, San Jose, and Cupertino offices. As projects were submitted -- either online or in person -- I would create a budget and timeline for that project and then assign staff resources. An additional responsibility was to train staff on new hardware and software.

Marketing Communications Specialist

I worked on multiple types of projects as the marketing communications specialist at OncorMed. I worked on several integrated marketing campaigns that included new collateral pieces, direct mail and trade show graphics. Additionally, we created one of the first web sites that had both B2B and B2C content. We targeted oncologists, but also provided educational resources on cancer and our testing services to consumers.
