To become Entrepreneur...?

Our fam. moved from Norway to Palo Alto last august. We moved because of my wife´s work (heading a TECH Incubator, down town Palo Alto). The kids could not´t speak english, etc. so I´ve been giving them some extra attention these first months, making sure the family and our kids have had as soft landing as possible. Living in the midst of where most startups are born is a wonderful oportunity; But, how to start a startup? A lot of pit falls, Now that we´re all in good shape and everything is running smooth, I am learning (talking to VC´s, founders, & following a course at Stanford on "how to start a startup") & gering up to either start my own company or join the next big thing. TechThatRock.com is a eCommerse startup I have been working on behind the scenes to keep my self busy and learning from the Startup scene in Silicon Valley. Haven´t decided yet, if I should take the step and follow that idea all the way through, or if I should join a company that have come a bit further. We´ll see, who know´s what tomorrow will bring ;-)

Sales Engineer III

This journey started with the triggering excitement of starting up the Norwegian Riverbed office also covering Iceland with two other great Riverbed colleagues. I was employee #2 in Norway... We work both in direct customer dialogue, as well as partner and distributor enablement. We meet and talk about solutions, architecture and technical design challenges. At Riverbed we innovate and do things differently. We help our customers think out of the box, do more at a lower cost, with less effort. Typically in environments where application performance and end user experience is critical to the company's success. Location Independent Computing: As we centralize data and applications to our DC's and more then ever these days; to the cloud; performance will be worse the further away from the user these data / and applications gets. That's one of several sweet spots where Riverbed come into the picture. Don't hesitate to get in touch, we'll be more then happy to help out. Looking forward to talking to you! Riverbed Technology delivers IT performance for the globally connected enterprise, through our performance platform built over the last decade. Even though I have a technical background I help our customers see the bigger picture and release synergies by integrating, tuning and consolidating their infrastructure.

Music:

Concerts, and I play the guitar. Wanted to become a rockstar. Ended up creating a record which we had to sell to our family & friends. But what a great time it was!

Co-founded a 15 year old Rock & Art festival still going strong, drawing about 2000 crazy people each year (long warm summer nights in Norway)

Sports:

Biking (Road & MTB), Windsurfing & Wavesurfing, Snowboarding, Skiing
