Steven Weisblatt, M.D. serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, a position he accepted after teaching for more than a decade at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry. Actively involved with contemporary psychiatry, he has lectured throughout the United States and given presentations at international academic conferences. At present, Dr. Steven Weisblatt maintains affiliations with the Child & Adolescent Bipolar Foundation and the International Society for Bipolar Disorders. Previously, he sat on the American Psychiatric Association’s Committee on Mental Retardation and was repeatedly nominated for and elected to the Board of Directors at The NADD - an association for persons with developmental disabilities and mental health needs. Over the past two decades, he has also advised pharmaceutical companies about the best applications and correct use of their medications. Dedicated to providing mental health patients with accurate diagnoses and effective treatments, Dr. Steven Weisblatt established a private practice in Bronx, New York, in 1988. He continues treating patients through that practice (now relocated to New Rochelle, New York), meeting with patients and their support networks to provide accurate diagnosis and effective treatments. Steven Weisblatt, M.D. strives to create specialized treatment regimens that serve as permanent solutions, rather than temporary fixes, thus empowering patients to benefit further from psychotherapy. After the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania approached him to consult with state institutions about the diagnosis of mood disorders, Dr. Steven Weisblatt established a second practice in Pocono Lake, Pennsylvania. Dr. Steven Weisblatt earned his M.D. from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in 1984 and subsequently pursued a residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. He later participated in advanced training programs at the Family Studies Section of the Bronx Psychiatric Center and the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis & Psychology. At present, Steven Weisblatt, M.D. holds licensure in New York and Pennsylvania. He is board certified in general psychiatry and board-eligible in geriatric psychiatry.
