After leaving his medical practice, Steven Pinkert attended the University of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida, where he earned his Juris Doctor, graduating with cum laude honors. Pinkert then spent four years working for the Office of the Public Defender in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, advancing quickly from his position as a Staff Attorney in the office's Juvenile Division to ultimately serve in the capital litigation department. Steven Pinkert then joined the law firm of Kaye Rose & Maltzman as an Associate. While applying his knowledge of medicine and psychiatry to litigation related to admiralty cases, he helped to conduct research and develop strategies for courtroom presentations. Shortly before his tenure at Kaye Rose and Maltzman, Steven Pinkert earned a Master of Business Administration, focusing on international business, from the University of Miami Graduate School of Business Administration. In 2002, he became Managing Partner at Pinkert Law Firm. He held the position until 2011, when he formed Pinkert and Marsh, PA.
