Steven Gallanter, a Boston, Massachusetts, bartender, knows exactly how to organize bar storage areas for maximum efficiency while reducing waste at the same time. An expert in pouring the finest cordials in the Boston area, Steven Gallanter has more than 10 years’ experience pouring local and imported beers, shaking and stirring mixed cocktails, and uncorking hundreds of bottles of champagne, chardonnay, merlot, and pinot grigio wines. In order to keep accurate records of open and closed tabs and top-shelf liquor upsells for each patron, Steven Gallanter must be well versed in restaurant and bar software. In one shift, using point-of-service software, Steven Gallanter was able to track $2,500 in revenue performance for his individual shift. Working in a variety of landmark bars like The Ritz-Carlton, Boston Common, and Fenway Park, has allowed Steven Gallanter hands-on computer experience with well-known point-of-service and client-management software, including MICROS Systems, Inc., POSitouch, RPOWER Restaurant POS Software, and Execu/Tech Hotel Property Management, an all-in-one, hotel-property management system. In addition to learning the point-of-service software, Steven Gallanter has taken a course in Microsoft Excel to learn more about the proper creation of spreadsheets and the use of formulas.
