Notable Accomplishments:

  • Conversion of Red Hat system builds from a manual GUI installation and manual audit-driven configuration changes to an automated TFTP kickstart process, taking the required time for each system build from up to a week to less than 10 minutes.
  • Research and conversion of all infrastructure monitoring from a local IBM Tivoli on-prem instance to a SaaS Zenoss environment with full response automation.
  • Creation of iptables-based firewall automation for each on-site Red Hat instance, allowing for tighter security and full HIPAA compliance.
  • Research and repair of IBM VIOS Shared Ethernet environment which had been unable to properly function since inception, allowing now for full network redundancy at the VIO hypervisor level.

I have been responsible for helping create a myriad of solutions over the years for everything from simple hand-made Serial to RJ45 adapters to keep from spending money on re-cabling entire stores for hardware upgrades, automated troubleshooting scripts for inexperienced/understaffed teams, to portable stores for use at Expos and other traveling and marketing opportunities. 

About me

I am 33 years old, have been married for 14 years, and have sons who are 6 and 9.

When I'm not working or spending time with my family, I enjoy spending time in the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest, playing tabletop games with my boys and our friends, and joining my friends at hobby conventions.
