The owner of Mench Real Estate Capital, Steve Mench began building his knowledge of the industry at the age of nineteen, when he earned a Florida real estate sales license. Next, he joined CB Commercial Real Estate Group, Inc., in Boca Raton, where he marketed properties and negotiated purchase and lease contracts. At the same time, Steve Mench pursued an undergraduate degree in finance at Florida Atlantic University. While there, he was awarded a Florida Board of Realtors Scholarship and served as secretary of the Financial Management Association.In the years that followed, Steve Mench gained property management and leasing experience while with Brauvin Real Estate Funds, Inc., in Boca Raton. Notably, he increased occupancy in a troubled shopping center, returning the asset to profitability. He also returned to school, earning a JD and master of arts in real estate from the University of Florida, in Gainesville.After graduating, Steve Mench was recruited by the Miami office of The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. He spent the next four years with the company, performing underwriting analyses on properties worth $1.3 billion and closing multi-million dollar loans on warehouses, apartment buildings, manufactured homes, and a regional mall.Since 2012, Steve Mench has leveraged his twenty-three-year track record as the principal of Mench Real Estate Capital in Gainesville. The firm taps into his extensive industry contacts to provide non-recourse funding and joint-venture equity. Mench Real Estate Capital also supplies advisory services and orchestrates loan sales and investment sales.A certified commercial investment member, Steve Mench is also active with the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties, Industrial Association of Dade County, and the Florida Bar Association. He serves on the University of Florida’s Real Estate Advisory Board.
