After receiving his J.D. in 1965 from Boston University School of Law, Stephen Kolodny relocated to California to begin practicing family law in 1966. Stephen Kolodny is active on behalf of numerous professional organizations and widely sought after as a speaker. A Diplomate of the American College of Family Trial Lawyers, Stephen Kolodny is 1 of only 100 attorneys who hold membership in this organization. He is part of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and sits on its Board of Governors. Stephen Kolodny has served in the positions of both President and Vice President of the Southern California chapter of the AAML, and he belongs to the organization’s membership committee. He participates regularly in the AAML’s Southern California Trial Advocacy Institute. Stephen Kolodny has held membership in the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (IAML) since 1988. The organization is dedicated to elevating the practice and standard of family law in the US. Until recently, Stephen Kolodny acted as President of its US chapter. He sits on the organization’s Board of Governors and published its newsletter for five years. He has also filled the position of chair of IAML’s Committee on Continuing Legal Education and lectured on topics such as enforcement of matrimonial judgments and international collection of judgments. A partner in the firm of Kolodny & Anteau, Stephen Kolodny practices from an office in Beverly Hills, and he belongs to both the Beverly Hills Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Stephen Kolodny participates in the Family Law Judge Pro Tem Program with the Los Angeles Superior Court and is one of the founders of the Los Angeles Superior Court Family Law Mediation Panel. Stephen Kolodny also holds membership in the Women’s Lawyers Association and the American Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
