As the sole IT employee for a Pre-K through Grade 12 school with 350 students and 60 staff, I:

  • Brought report card creation process-in house, reducing redesign process by 75% and giving administrators more control over and more confidence in the final product;
  • Trained secretarial staff in completion of thrice-yearly report for provincial authorities;
  • Taught teachers how to troubleshoot and resolve commonly occurring issues.

Assistant Coordinator

Two weekends a year, a day-long, high-stakes financial exam is administered to candidates around the world. At my center, I:

  • Supervised 2-4 supervisors and their 3-5 sections, each of 4 proctors and 80 candidates. I ensured that proctors followed all of their guidelines, and that candidates upheld the integrity of the exam;
  • Assisted in creating assignments for all proctors (75-250), based on their experience, skill sets, and CFA guidelines;
  • Supervised the Religious Alternate Date exam administration, for 5-15 candidates and 3 proctors.

Network Administrator

Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly

As the sole IT employee for an 80-person company spread across 3 sites, I:

  • Worked with architects and engineers in design of a new building to determine the layout of all telephone and data ports;
  • Led the search for a new email server, including all research, evaluation, and testing;
  • Coordinated the upgrade of the email server from Eudora 3.1 to Exchange, including server configuration and employee education;
  • Reorganized the backup system to be effective and efficient, saving both hours/day and hundreds of dollars/month;
  • Helped the Fund Development group to add a working donation system to the organization's website, allowing us to accept instant donations via credit card rather than requiring checks to be mailed;
  • Enabled the Facilities department to extend their work order I/O system across three remote locations, allowing for a standardized reporting process and obviating the need for work orders to be emailed to different sites.

In recognition of my achievements and advanced systems knowledge, I was promoted into a newly-created position. There, I:

  • Configured and administered network-monitoring software Servers Alive, ensuring all websites and servers were running, and liaised with other IT groups to keep alerts current, relevant, and informative;

Senior Help Desk Specialist


I was promoted to the Help Desk from the Trading Department, in recognition of my attention to detail, technical proficiency, and knowledge of the financial applications in use. While there, I:

  • Led the interview and hiring process for new Help Desk Specialists;
  • Trained and mentored the Specialists, enabling them to be promoted to other groups in the IT Department;
  • Designed and created a Help Desk website, with documentation on common user issues (software configuration, network issues, etc.), and user interfaces for logging issues, installing network printers, and installing commonly-used software;
  • Designed standard desktop images for each department in the company, enabling us to ensure licensing compliance and to lock down employees' desktops and corporate firewalls, increasing security and lowering our risk threshold;
  • Created a hardware inventory, to track the location, age, and support history of all computers and mobile devices;
  • In conjunction with HR and hiring managers, standardized hiring and termination processes and communications;
  • Redesigned issue reporting system to create relevant categories and a more efficient workflow;
  • Designed a reporting process on outstanding and resolved issues, for statistical and monitoring purposes.
