Software Engineer

Lockheed Martin Corp

Developing 3D, real-time, distributed simulation software using C++ and OpenSceneGraph.

The majority of my experience has been producing first person training simulations for the Department of Defense.  I have worked on a variety of projects, including:

  • A prototype project funded by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) for the Naval Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC).
  • Close to three years of regularly scheduled, one year, feature releases for DVTE.
  • Hurricane disaster preparation, training, and simulation (link).

Independent Game Developer

Flock is a personal project started at USC under the GamePipe Laboratory and is built with the Unreal Development Kit targeting iOS, Mac, and PC.  Built as an addictive ambient arcade crossover game, Flock owes its name to the steering forces based AI that the player must collect.

    - All assets, minus the player ship, were built using a combination of Blender and open source tools.

    - Currently entered in the PAX East Indie Game Showcase.

Funded through a Small Business Innovation Grant (SBIR), I researched the security of Broadcast MANET and the feasability of hardware implementation of a specific target tracking algorithms developed by Carnegie Mellon.

Software Development Intern

FAST Enterprises

Development and maintenence in Visual Basic.NET for GENTAX, an enterprise government tax solution.  This internship featured heavy involvement in the FAST Enterprises' software design process and taught me much about optimized SQL commands as well as server setup and maintenance.

Engineering Recruiter

Responsible for recruiting students for the Computer Science and Computer Engineering programs at the University of Arkansas.  Help manage recruitment activities, talk to students, assist with summer registration, and provide tours.

Designed and developed the University of Arkansas' Computer Science and Computer Engineering website as well as internal web tools for re-accreditation preparation.  Development involved a large number of technologies including the RedDOT CMS system, Ruby on Rails, as well as XHTML and CSS.
