ICT Technical Coordinator

I am responsible for procurement, requirement gathering, budget management and technical input within ICT.  Main responsibilities are project management / support for the roll-out of the blackberry replacement windows phone devices, technical design and configuration work on the radio infrastructure managed switch project and the day to day management of the MCA's mobile phone estate which includes issuing, replacing, cancelling and contract management.  I have been tasked to reduce the mobile phone estate for easier management and to reduce annual costs, this includes contract management and financial analysis to get the results required.

This role has given me a much better understanding of contract management, financial delegations and budget management from a different perspective as well as developing my people and conflict management skills.

Responsible for the implementation of technical projects within ICT. Previously responsible for implementing Internationally Legislated systems with the EU and other international partners through the International Maritime Organisation. Most recently planned and implemented a CESG accredited secure remote connection to the corprate network from remote and sattelite offices and planning and facilitating security testing to assure the network and detail vulnerabilities found.

Originally employed on a short term contract in a 1st line position involving logging calls from customers, fault diagnosis, application of known fixes and investigation into unknown issues. Promoted to a permanent 2nd line post in february 2003 which involved the more complex faults with more investigation work being conducted at that level. Responsible for the management of 1st line staff which involved, training and development of new skills and involving them with projects and faults beyond their current knowledge to enable them to specialise in their chosen areas.

Air Traffic Services Assistant

Employed within the training and development unit as a pseudo pilot in the training simulator, this involved inputting commands as specified by the simulator manager, the air traffic controller or as the exercise specified to simulate air traffic in the UK airspace sectors. I was heavily involved in the design and implementation of the simulations that were run on the simulator, these included civil, military and emergency situations. I also took the opportunity to cross train with the other training simulators in both the Bournemouth training centre and the London Control centre to expand my knowledge and abilities.
