Amongst other project responsibilities in the renewable energy technology sector, managed and completed the restructuring and development of an existing e-commerce entity with an energy/mineral resource enterprise in China to provide synergy in the merged asset investment. Each on its on had previously underperformed in returning the desired return on investment. My task is to deliver a business restructure and development that addresses the shareholders' expectation for higher sales revenue and sustained growth/profitability.

Other recent roles include negotiations on supply with private and Chinese state-owned solar manufacturers.

ORICA MINING SERVICES PTY. LTD

World leading provider of explosive products and technical services in mining and civil construction.

Report to Asia CEO. Accountable for the strategic growth and total business operation in China and exports to oversea markets including Australia and North Asia; manage P & L including asset management, quality and safety performance of Shandong manufacturing plant operation with a complement of 200 staff.

  • Transformed marketing strategy from being a single-product to multi-product mix complemented with technical service. Turned loss-making business around within 12 months. Built marketing and sales competency to focus on achieving targets through demonstrating new innovative value proposition of bundled product and technical services offering. Strengthened economic linkages with targeted customers, which resulted in capture of customers’ total products and services needs. Expanded market share of up to 60% in selected niche segments.
  • Developed the market need for technical services and successfully negotiated contracts with major users in premium niche segment, generating continual growth beyond product sales to USD25 M in revenue and USD8 M profit.
  • Established plant as a reliable and quality assured supply source to overseas market including Australia, Japan and other countries.
  • Created sales pull to fully load plant capacity maximizing RONA at 24%. Localized raw material and expanded product lines supporting annual sales growth exceeding 60~70% and doubling profit year on year. Managed government and regulatory requirements for plant expansion beyond design capacity for further profitability and cash positive growth.

  • Completed construction of greenfield manufacturing complex through to plant commissioning and operation
  • Implemented a total production system, replacing import sales with economy of scale locally manufactured product mix which improved total sales margin
  • Successfully developed and implemented business/marketing plan for the establishment of national distribution network and sales force for the domestic market. Built nutrient feed additives market position from zero-base to USD5 M in the first year.

  • Negotiated and gained shareholders approval for strategic marketing in brand equity building and consumer base growth for targetted market segments. Expanded market share to over 90% of stout market through the development of its strategic brands - Guinness and ABC
