Standard Energy Services
- Lubbock US
Established from the merging of numerous oil and gas companies, Standard Energy Services continues a nearly 35-year-long tradition of setting standards in its industry. Aiding companies operating throughout the Permian Basin, Standard Energy Services offers vacuum trucks, hot oilers, and big rigs, as well as brine stations and disposal facilities. Additionally, Standard E&S understands the importance of safety in this field and follows the S.A.F.E. Hands methodology as part of its 3SQ mission statement. Due to heavy equipment and technical sophistication, the oil industry can appear as a hazardous place to work. However, companies adopt several methods that reduce the chances of being injured on the job. One program titled S.A.F.E. Hands focuses solely on potential hand hazards, which can cause workers’ hands to be severed, smashed, chemically altered, or otherwise damaged. The S.A.F.E. acronym refers to the four main steps to follow every day to ensure safety: Survey, Actions, Familiarity, and Equipment. First, survey for hazards and use the yellow, red, and green site surveying markers to indicate the danger level. Through a combination of job safety analysis and work procedures, employees learn appropriate actions for the specific assignment. They also gain familiarity with their duties and the job site through practice and experience. Finally, they must have the correct equipment and properly train with it.
