Stacey Serafin is currently a student at the University of Alabama pursuing a career in dietetics. She is a 1994 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor's degree in Communication. She worked in marketing and sales for ModernTech SI, Inc. from 1996 - 2002. Since then, she has become active in her community, holding many board positions in local community efforts to include: Parent Teacher's Association (PTA) President at Blue Grass Elementary in charge of a 55 person board with a budget of over $35,000 (2010-2011), Executive Member of Knox County Council PTA (current), President of the Williford Homeowner's Association (WHOA) board (current), Benington Farrington Recreational Association (BFRA) Executive Board Member/President-Elect (current), Executive Board Member at Blue Grass Elementary PTA (current).

Taking courses at Pellissippi required for the Dietetics program at the University of Alabama not offered in the distance learning program. These courses will be applicable to the Food and Nutrition degree I am currently pursuing at the University of Alabama.
Enrolled in Interpreting and ASL courses to continue to pursue acceptance into the Basic Interpreter Training Program at the Tennessee School for the Deaf. Achieved a 4.0 in these courses.
Enrolled in American Sign Language courses to continue to pursue acceptance into the Basic Interpreting Training Program (B.I.T.P.) hosted at the Tennessee School for the Deaf. Achieved a 4.0 in all four levels of ASL courses.
Received degree in Communications.
