Freelance Arabic Teacher

I have been teaching Arabic online and offline for about 7 years now. I have been working for large schools (online and offline) as well as working independently as a freelance private tutoring instructor. I have taught online on, Global-LT and other. I have taught in company for professionals from a variety of fields. Among the companies and organizations I have worked with - GSK, BP,  Amer Group, St.Andrews, Amira, the UN, the IFC ..etc. Currently besides working as a freelance, I am a part time teacher at the New Zealand embassy.

Education Supervisor and Consultant


I joined Myngle in late 2007 as a teacher, then as an education assistant, and later as a language training Coordinator. My work for Myngle was from distance. At that time my tasks included hiring and training teachers, providing assistance to teachers and students as well as general guidance and advice, implementing and development of language courses. I developed an A1 Level course for Egyptian Colloquial Arabic for Myngle.

In 2011, I was promoted to be the Education Supervisor and consultant of the newly established department Myngle Corporate. I contributed in laying out the structure of work in this department. Through this experience, I have become skilled atmanaging tasks on multiple fronts while working in a team online and from a distance.

As an Education Supervisor and Consultant my tasks included:

- Setting up and organization of the department,- Communicating with and reporting to the HRs and managers of corporate clients,- Management and coordination of  the business – client life cycle,- Coordination of product purchases and trials,- Different languages courses selection,- Teacher selection and managing Teachers’ training,

- Coaching some team members and teachers- Teacher – student coordination/feedback,

- Supervising a team of training coordinators and online tutors.- Writing training manuals.- Conducting performance reviews for teachers to ensure high quality performance.- Arranging and facilitating webinars, workshops, or forums for the teachers.- Technical support.

Freelance Interpreter and Research Assistant


I worked as a freelance interpreter and research assistant with some non- speakers PHD students or scholars in Egypt who were researching in different fields law, agricultural, archaeology, MiddleEast studies, social studies..and other. My tasks included:

-Teaching them some basic Arabic,

- Translating some documents,

- Accompanying researchers for Interviewing and interpretation,

- Summarizing some documents in English and Arabic,

- Arranging for field trips and accompaning them.


Tour operator

UR Travels

UR Travels was a startup inbound travel agency when I joined it. I contributed significantly to the initial launch and development of the agency.

My tasks included:

- Cooperating in collecting and selecting the proper data and sections for the websites,

-Developing domestic tours and designing flexible tour packages to meet the needs of various clients,

- Accompanying large groups tours to ensure smooth programming,

-Communicating a range of information on itineraries, destinations, and local culture,

- Ensuring that all travel arrangements ran according to plan and that accommodation, meals, and servicewere satisfactory,

- Organizing entry to attractions and transport,

- Trouble-shooting and problem-solving on an individual client basis,

- Confirming places to stay, or details and arrangements of visitis, etc,

- Advising tours with regard to facilities, sights, restaurants, and shops at each destination,

- Writing reports and maintaining records.

My tasks included:

- Teaching Arabic for non-native Arabic speakers.

- Planning and arranging cultural programs for students interested in expanding both their language skills and cultural understanding.

- Working as a tour guide and a tour leader in some cultural and historical places in Cairo ( during the cultural programs the school were arranging).

I was an intern for 3 months at Smart International for Languages and Translation in Cairo. I was assigned translation tasks related to certain fields. The assignments covered economy, politics and legal  translation.

I attended 2 courses of Legal Translation (Arabic- English& English- Arabic). It allowed me to acquire a specialisation in the area of legal translation.The course objectives were:- To give an overview of the legal systems and terminology.- To establish a theoretical framework for legal translation and provides practice in translating key documents in a wide range of legal fields.- The curriculum was developed in consultation with the legal translation industry.

I attended a three-month professional development course in the methodology, intercultural competence, and technology of teaching a language in virtual classrooms using state-of-the-art synchronous Internet communication tools.

This course enables me to:

Presentations, Volunteer Work and Publications

- I joined as a presenter a presentation at the NileTESOL Conference in 2009 in Cairo: . Our presentation was entitled ” Changing the future of language education”. This is the blog post about the presentation:( Presented a short Arabic lesson in the closing of the conference Virtual Round table, in April 2010- -  I have developed a short-course for Egyptian Colloquial Arabic in podcasts. I called it “Let’s talk Arabic”. Here is a link for one lesson. (

- I am a volunteer at organization. It offers useful free resources to learn different lanaguages: lessons, grammar tips, vocabulary, phrases, language tools, and audio files to download. I contributed to the Arabic resources.


1- Reading: I enjoy gaining knowledge about anything and everything, whether it is politics, economy, literature, or history. However, the latter two are my favorite.

2- Edu-Technology: I have passion for technology in Education. I love discovering any aspect of technology that expands the educational experience.
