Children's Community Support Worker

Mental Health Association

I've worked with children and families dealing with mental illness and behavioral issues for over ten years now.  The goal is to teach them the skills they need so they can function at home and in the community with the least amount of restriction and avoid hospitalization.  It's been incredibly rewarding and, at many times, frustrating.  I'm known for being dependable and persistent and very knowledgable.  I excel in documentation due to my attention to details and my internal drive to be accurate.  I like to educate and assist others to the best of my abilities.  If I can't do something myself, I find someone who can.  My reputation is invaluable to me.

Computer skills
Computers have changed so much since I got my first one in 1992.  I've done more hardware and software upgrades than I can count.  I know enough to know that advancements are made faster than I could ever fathom but I enjoy learning and using the new technology as it becomes available.  The internet is an invaluable tool that I use daily.  If I don't know something, I look it up!
Proofreading and Editing
I have a strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.  I deal with education daily and I have a strong grasp of the English language, including grammar and spelling.  I enjoy making things as perfect as they can be.
