I am mainly responsible for MSP (Medicare secondary payer), accounts receivable and some billing using the STAR system. A very important part of my function is to have direct communication with both patients and insurance companies via phone conversations and some face to face contact. This contacts affords me the opportunity to gather valuable information allowing Centegra to be paid for services rendered. Performing my function while serving the patients with respect is key to my success.

I am also Medicaid trained for complete payment cycle processing. Facets of this include EPayment reports, authorization for Physician and patient sterilization, Voids and Failed claims authorizations thru Medicaid. This requires direct communication with both patients and Medicaid representatives via personal interface as well as phone communication.

My knowledge base covers state assistance, Medicaid, Medicare and secondary coverage with private pay insurance carriers. The main purpose of the MSP position is to protect the hospital from commiting fruad thru Medicare.

My duties as server included informing patrons about their culinary options, methods of preparations, entre descriptions, wine and drink pairings as well as primary care for their dining comfort in a high caliber atmosphere. "Managing" patrons, chefs, buss staff and fellow servers is a critical aspect for success in a food service environment that handles a wide array of personalities. I also assisted the kitchen staff and fellow servers as needed.

In the role of Hostess, I had the first opportunity to present our establishment in a positive light to the patrons. I would place the patrons per table requests or per standard operating procedure to insure server balance.

I posses a service oriented attitude and have excellent "people skills". My ability to read people, open and friendly demeanor as well as positive attitude have served me well and driven my success in this field. I truly enjoy the people aspect of my career.

Operations Manager

TeleRad Services, Inc.

TeleRad Services provided readings for Mobil imaging companies around the country. As Operations Manager I routinely controlled the flow of the work load, prioritizing and distributing it to my staff per their skill sets and our overall requirements. I would schedule personnel, order all necessary supplies and deal with personnel issues. 

Daily, I would receive the images from these Mobil facilities which could be located at nursing homes, prisons, emergency sites etc. I would then log these images, and forward them to physicians located across the country. They would send their diagnosis to me and I would in turn send these to the respective facilities for patient care.

This service is entirely internet based requiring a higher level of technical expertise relative to the internet, specialized and standard software, medical billing, and medical images. A high degree of communications skills is also necessary as I was dealing with lay persons to professional levels at all times.

This fast paced, technically oriented and challenging position was very fulfilling and rewarding.

Imaging Advantage LLC

Imaging Advantage LLC, was a service which connected physicians to facilities in need of image reading. the medical images were X-rays, CT scans, MRI's etc. This service allowed physicians to work from home and facilities such as hospitals and clinics to have instant readings without an on staff, on site person. payment was made based on case load only, not hours on site.

My duties were sales and marketing, credentialing for doctors in the states in which they would read cases for, control of payments, billing and bill payment, working caseloads between physicians and facilities and general middle man-people pleaser. the physician and facility parts of the process were simple and refined. My duties were complex, required diligence and accuracy, and a personal touch.

Strict confidentiality, attention to detail and adherence to policy were naturally required. This position allowed me to not only use the skills I had been trained for, but to learn new skills routinely. I was challenged daily by the crediting, billing, medical language and interpersonal aspects of this position.

Server / Hostess / Carryout

The Breakers

My duties were varied and I served in several capacities as needed. As the Carry out person I would take phone orders and prepare them for pickup as well as provide cash out.

As the server I would take food orders at the table, deliver them to the cook staff and bring the prepared food as well as drinks to them. Customer care and service were stressed in this family atmosphere.

As hostess I greeted the patrons and seated them. This was a very busy food service atmosphere and planning was critical. The ability to understand a larger picture helped me control the reservation versus walk in flow of traffic. Naturally, I had to also respond to unexpected anomalies in a professional and timely manner. I would also interface between the kitchen, bar and wait staff to provide the best service and equal consideration to large groups as well as small ones.

Medical Biller / Coder

Specialized Billing Services, Inc.

Specialized billing was a medical billing service company for several physicians with various practices, with a focus on OBGYN, Psychiatric and MRI.

My daily duties included Patient data entry, insurance data entry, CPT and ICD9 coding through medical manager system, and submit invoices. Daily accounts collection activity and office administration activity were also included. Direct patient interface via phone contact was a critical aspect of this position.

On a monthly basis statements would be compiled, organized and shipped. I also assisted in sending insurance claims forms electronically and manually.
