Vice Chancellor of Public Relations. Develop and direct the implementation of communications plans to support goals for increasing awareness and market share for UTHSC programs, services and support system wide strategic goals. Serve as a primary spokesperson for UTHSC and its entities; serve as the key liaison between UTHSC and government officials, medical community, corporate special events planning; coordinate special events with various media, promoting on a regional level, increasing community awareness and support of UTHSC sponsors, donors, alumni's and therir services.
*Conduct meetings with administrators and staff to stimulate the flow of positive new ideas.
*Act as a counselor for corporate management and administrators, and consult with UTHSC chancellors/administrators regarding community and public relations strategies.
*Train, direct, and counsel other members of the Marketing and Communications staff in handling all communications/media needs.
*Provide direction on jobs such as: television/radio ads, brochukres, fact sheets, direct mail pieces, letterheads, newsletters, manuals, media kits and posters.
*Maintain and prepare budget and productivity within guidelines; ensure completion of media and community relations projects.
*Have increased community image and public awareness.
*Coordinate special events and meetings system wide.
