I taught both the DC-9 and B-727 systems for initial new hire training and recurrent training. I also operated aircraft simulators for both aircraft and taught the required flight profiles and standard as well as emergency procedures.  For recurrent training and other classroom instruction, I used Power-Point to prepare slides describing systems and procedures for use in training.

I contracted to fly as captain on DC-9 aircraft and to ferry these aircraft to the company's facility in Bucharest Romania.  These aircraft were prepared for the flightin Mojave California and it was my job tosafely fly these aircraft to Madrid Spain then to Bucharest Romania.

I was hired as a captain on the DC-9 due to my previous experience at Eastern Airlines. I assisted in getting the aircraft ready to pass the required FAA inspections then put on the company's operating certificate. I eventually was promoted to the training department where I operated the DC-9 simulators for both new hire and recurrent training. I was endorsed by the FAA to conduct check rides for all but initial captain type ratings which had to be observed by an FAA inspector. I was also approved by the Detroit FAA (FSDO) to conduct initial landing qualifications in the aircraft for both seats. I was an approved check airman for all phases of flight in the aircraft and simulator.

I was training to become fully qualified as a captain on the company King Air 100 aircraft. Company went out of business in December of 1993.

I hired on as a truck driver for tractor trailers. This company hired drivers who were then leased to companies thorughout southern New Hampshire as fill ins while regular drivers were on vacation. The pay wasn't the greatest at $10.00 per hour so I left so as to search for a full time job in my profession as a pilot.

Hired to learn trucking and the process of driving a tractor trailer. Once completeing the required training, I left so as to be around home more. The over the road trucking does not allow much home time.

Flight Engineer / Pilot

I hired on as a flight engineer on the Lockheed Electra then progressed to First Officer. I then moved to the B-727 as Flight Engineer and then First Officer. I qualified on the Airbus A-300 B4 as First Officer. In 1983, I qualified as Captain on the DC-9 the in 1987 I qualified as Captain on the B-727 and remained in that position until the strike in 1989.

Annually and once I qualified as Captain every 6 months I attended recurrent training at the company training center in Miami. I never failed a flight check or recurrent training exam. In 23½; years, I was out sick only one time and I never smoked nor drank. To this day I do not smoke or drink.

I took training here so as to learn aviation and qualify for the FAA Private, Commercial, Instrument and eventually the ATP.

As previously stated, each year and once I qualified as Captain, every 6 months, I had to attend 3 days of training at Eastern's Training Center to maintain aircraft wualification according to the FAA requirements.
