Visual Information Specialist

Defense Security Service

Responsible for the development and creation of graphic identities, logos and print based materials for various divisions of the Defense Security Services (DSS) within the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). Assumed the role of Branch Chief for the Creative Services department while current Branch Chief was away for a 10 month off-site training. Managed a team of about 10 designers that consisted of graphic artists, photographers and audio/video engineers. In addition, serve as a mentor and team leader for the Creative Services division and continue to manage many projects.

Graphic Designer

Worked on-site at a federal government agency. Designed posters, bus posters, banner-ups, 508 compliant leaflets and publications to be distributed across the globe. Created comprehensive designs for webpages as well. Lead designer for a national advertising campaign with a well known celebrity to advertise changes in a public program used by millions of people. Designed using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and Acrobat.

Freelance Web Designer

Image Engineering

Freelance website design for special effects company. Collaborated with developer to redesign the existing site. Designed comprehensive layouts using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

2008

Architectural Designer

Focused on the renovation of a shopping mall in Dubai, which featured 18 million square feet of new mixed-use development. Worked on plans from the conceptual stage to the design development of the project. Used AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Excel.

2007 - 2008

Intern Architect

David H. Gleason Associates, Inc. Architects

In charge of Baltimore Main Street facade renovations. Visited sites for field measurements, photo documentation and meetings with business owners; created schematic designs, colored renderings, and researched materials and specifications.

2006

Interior Design Intern

Hospitality Services Inc.

Helped design interiors for universities’ cafeterias, food courts and restaurants in airports, shopping centers and doctors’ offices.Contributed to both the graphic and interior design departments.Assisted with the selection of materials, creation of sketch renderings, placement of finishes, development of specification sheets, and updated the company representative database. Used AutoCAD, Photoshop and Indesign.
