  • Maintained a flat effective royalty rate on a licensed content portfolio comprised of $490M of base revenue. Contributed incremental revenue of >$8M annually from new/renegotiated agreements;
  • Managed all aspects of LexisNexis corporate License, Alliance and Strategic Partnership portfolio, including identification and investigation of targets, creation of deal structure, negotiation of terms and agreement execution with more than 900 engagements under direct management.
  • Identified acquisition targets, formed acquisition business cases, deal terms, and negotiated acquisitions valued from $500K - $40M; Led post-acquisition integration teams with transitional oversight of organizational, operational, marketing and sales rationalization, and cultural alignment;

  • Oversaw major client accounts including Fortune 500 IT and Business Service Clients;
  • Restructured internal management, client teams and account service personnel into functional work groups, aligning resources with a client-centric cost model, resulting in 30% decrease in operational costs;

Responsible for all aspects of a 40+ company, $23M pre-seed venture capital fund, including portfolio intake, due diligence, deal term development, investment monitoring and oversight, and portfolio management:

  • Fund is ranked in the top quartile for investment performance against similar vintage funds;
  • Lead investment manager for seven start-ups. All remain active; four have received A-round venture capital investment, with two exiting the portfolio with as much as a 270% return to investors.

Responsible for overall operations of the Coalition, and economic development initiatives including corporate recruiting, retention and expansion, technology commercialization and venture capital, and aerospace and defense programs:

  • Developed and implemented the 2012 and 2013 regional economic development strategy resulting in more than 4,600 jobs created, 6,000 jobs retained and more than $1.1B in capital invested in the Dayton Region. Top performing JobsOhio regional partner.
  • Organization was awarded Site Selection Magazine's 2012 Governor’s Cup for top performing mid-market economic development organization, and selected as a Top 20 economic development organization nationwide;
  • Developed new strategic plan for entrepreneurial development initiatives, resulting in new branding, region-wide back office system, staff reorganization, and intake processes. As a result, portfolio grew 300% in five months since roll-out.
  • Co-founder of the Global Aerospace Innovation Center, a joint program to commercialize early-stage technology innovations through industry-led rapid prototype development.

Responsible for all aspects of strategic planning, product development, operations and marketing program execution to accelerate growth of product preference and revenue in the law school and federal courts market segments:

  • Led team of 16 through five direct reports (Director of Strategy, Director of Marketing, Director of Law School Publishing, Manager of Product Development, and Manager of Law School Operations);
  • Designed growth strategies resulting in >6% print publishing revenue increase on a $40M base;
  • Developed and implemented LexisNexis Law School strategic plan that drove business unit market share to highest level since 2001, with incremental revenue impact of $7.5M/year.
  • Developed and deployed branded LexisNexis customer portal, shifting product delivery, account management, and resource planning to the online channel – reducing operating costs by 40% in two years;
  • Led design and execution of innovative incentive-based customer loyalty program, achieving and maintaining a 90% customer participation rate;
  • Formed and managed numerous Customer Advisory Boards, and successfully recruited influential Deans, Librarians and Program Directors from more than 50 U.S. Law Schools.
