  • Implementation of a next generation wireless Internet development SDK product line. 

Senior Project Manager / Operations Manager, Carrier Applications Group, portals.

Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Preparing for and launching a new Genie portal for British Telecom
  • Ensuring licensing and support for 3rd party products.
  • Commissioning of the portal, including migration of user data from the old system.
  • Setting up and managing a 24 by 7 support team after launch of the portal.
  • Liaison with customer for support and maintenance
  • People management of 5 staff (engineers)

The portal contained 55 Unix servers. The portal had 3.5 million subscribers in December 2001. Major achievements:

  • Managed the successful launch of the Genie portal for British Telecom porting 1 million+ subscribers; coordinating teams in the UK and DK working 24/7 to complete the launch successfully to the customer’s satisfaction
  • Successfully set up a 24/7 support team for the Genie portal which worked to the customer’s full satisfaction

Openwave closed their operations in Denmark February 2002.

Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Network compatibility and integration responsibility of the Nokia Intelligent Networks J4 main release.
  • Formulation and refinement of test processes and stage gate definitions
  • In matrix managing 5 local Test Project Managers in Denmark and Finland with a total of 25 testers

The entire project was a 100+ man-year effort. Major achievements:

  • Setting up a virtual team across different cultures to perform

1996 – 1997: Project Manager for the MSG (Meteosat Second Generation) OCOE (Overall Check-out Equipment) project, responsible for negotiations with the customer and overall sub-contractor and financial management of the project.  The customer was Aérospatiale, Cannes, France.

1994 – 1997: Project Manager for the DANC project, responsible for negotiations with the customer and overall technical and financial management of the project.  The customer was MMS-UK, Portsmouth, England.

1993 – 1994: Project Manager for the Cluster System EGSE (Electrical Ground Support Equipment), responsible for the acceptance of the project and setting up a maintenance system with strict CM, and all customer interaction in the maintenance phase.  The customer was Dornier (DASA), Friedrichshafen, Germany.

1992 –  1993: Project Manager and Engineering Manager for the Cluster Test Evaluation Software.  The customer was Dornier (DASA), Friedrichshafen, Germany.

1990 –  1992: Engineering Manager for the Cluster System EGSE, responsible for all software issues and Team Leader for the implementation team.  The responsibility also incorporated shadow engineering the sub-contractors’ work and ensuring the interface with the sub-contractors.  The customers were Dornier (DASA), Friedrichshafen, Germany and MMS-F, Toulouse, France.

1990 –  1990, Toulouse, France: Analyst responsible for analysing user requirements for the EGSE for the Cluster and SOHO spacecraft.  The customers were Dornier (DASA), Friedrichshafen, Germany and MMS-F, Toulouse, France.

1986 –  1990, Noordwijk, The Netherlands: Software Developer resident at ESTEC, the European Space Agency’s technology and research centre.
