Over the course of his career as an executive in the North American and Asian hospitality sectors, Sid Vaikunta has emerged as a highly capable business leader. He spent the formative years of his career with Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and The Water Club, a joint venture of Boyd Gaming Corporation and MGM Mirage located in Atlantic City. Sid Vaikunta started his career with Borgata as a senior development analyst, in which role he developed a number of consumer and competitive research plans to enhance market perspective.
After just over a year as a senior development analyst, Sid Vaikunta accepted an offer to become Borgata’s director of development. He introduced a number of innovative marketing and business strategies, including a loyalty card program featuring a consumer-focused benefits structure and forward-looking technology. Sid Vaikunta also organized a series of workshops, which developed top-quality call center practices in areas such as casino operations, marketing, hotel, and food and beverage.
During his final four years with Borgata, Sid Vaikunta served as the company’s director of marketing and vice president of marketing. As a member of the Borgata executive team, he developed a comprehensive tactical and strategic marketing plan that encompassed activities such as loyalty card centers, Internet marketing, casino marketing, special events and nightlife marketing, and more. In addition to working with the MGM Mirage senior vice president of advertising to create cross-property marketing campaigns, Sid Vaikunta collaborated with top chefs such as Wolfgang Puck and Michael Mina to launch dining venues. As a result of his efforts, Borgata quickly grew to become the most profitable casino in the history of Atlantic City.
