This job’s greatest benefit is the amount of contacts and knowledge gained from working in the Washington D.C. area. Although not a hotbed of yachting, the advantages were obvious.
Duties included pilotage, planning, logistics, accounting, entertainment, and mainline Engineering for all systems aboard the vessel (electronics, main engines, generation, hydraulics, etc.)

M/Y "Out of the Bleau"
85' Azimut and 92' Hatteras Elite Motoryacht ran for a wonderful family from Miami Beach that decided to get out of boating due to tough economic times. I aided in the boat's sale the Summer of '08.
Duties included pilotage, planning, logistics, accounting, entertainment, management of a full time 3-5 man/woman crew, and Engineering for all systems aboard the vessel (electronics, main engines, generation, hydraulics, etc.),
Was one of the youngest Professional Captains in the industry
Areas of travel: S. Florida, Georgia, Carolinas, the Chesapeake, New England, New York, all of the Bahamas, Central Caribbean including Honduras, Mexico, Belize, Jamaica, Eastern Caribbean from the D.R. to Antigua, Southern Caribbean including Panama and Costa Rica (Atlantic and Pacific).

Great opportunity to work directly for the owners of a great company. Learned a great deal about business as well as the cruise-line industry.
Duties were extremely varied, from doing work on the ship(s), accounting work for the CFO, formulating business plans, and troubleshooting computer systems.
