Skills

Skills

Leadership

Highly driven, organised and deadline focused with a proven record of obtaining the desired end result. As a para-legal / legal executive at John J. Murphy & Co, I oversaw and delegated a team of expert witnesses prior to each trial particularly in class actions. As managerial assistant at Thurles Fruit & Vegetable Co. I coordinated over the stock rotation within the warehouse and delegated duties efficiently to other staff members.

Negotiation

Attended at pre trial personal injury and commercial litigation settlement negotiations. Negotiating with opposing Barrister / Solicitor in Solicitor's absence.

Communication

Continuous liaison with counsel including sole High Court and E.A.T attendance. Dealing tactfully with clients at John J. Murphy & Co and Kieran Griffin & Co, liasing with them, taking instructions and listening to queries and responding appropriately. Dealing sensitively with the homeless during my volunteer work at Cork Simon Community. This proved invaluable in the development of my interpersonal skills.

Teamworking

As part of a legal team, my primary responsibility was to assist in the preparation of each case before trial, including assisting with court document compliance, continuous liaison with counsel /solicitor, expert witnesses and client. Responsible for analysis of cross examination evidence and judicial outcome at all court levels (exception of Supreme Court) which required excellent attention to detail. Assisted Solicitor in drafting of settlement agreements at pre-trial settlement negotiations.
