I recently graduated from the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication in December of 2010, receiving my B.A. in Communication with an emphasis on Public Relations. I have held a variety of jobs during my high school and college years and believe that they have not only helped me to prepare for my professional career, but have also shaped me as an individual, teaching me the value of hard work and self reliance. Much of my time has been spent working in the restaurant industry, which has not only taught me invaluable communication skills, but also how to interact and communicate successfully with every personality and situation I am presented with. During my time with Genie Industries, I gained experience with a variety of computer programs, as well as learning how to work as a group in a professional office environment. I am a hard worker who looks to constantly push the envelope and expand my knowledge of whatever field I find myself in.

Work experience

Environmental Health and Safety Intern

Genie Industries

At Genie Industries I worked as an intern in the Environmental Health and Safety Department. Throughout the course of my work, my primary job was to compile an internet database of all the chemicals used throughout the factory and to make all information about those chemicals organized and easily accessible. I began with what was an outdated stack of binders and paperwork and was able to compile an up to date online database that was available to all employees within the company which offered much greater ease of use.

Student Caller

I worked as a student caller with the objective of reaching out to alumni, parents and friends of WSU.

My PR 313 Class Project

Social Media
Through my education at Washington State University, I was fortunate to be able to work with and be instructed by Brett Atwood. Brett helped us to learn and implement the use of programs such as VisualCV, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google Docs, and many other tools useful in the field of public relations and marketing.
As well as working in the restaraunt industry for the majority of my employment, I was also elected to the position of Recruitment Chair for the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity at Washington State University. As recruitment chair, I was in charge of coordinating and planning each and every event in an effort to recruit new members to the fraternity. With little funding from the National Fraternity and a short period of time to work with, I was able to recruit one of the largest pledge classes to join the fraternity in recent years. This experienced coupled with my employment history has helped me to be an excellent and very persuasive communicator.
