My duties at this job included all aspects of running a nonprofit arts organization.From January 2007 to September 2008, I was the sole employee and acted as Director of The Arts Centre under the supervision of the board.I was responsible for all events, activities, classes, correspondence, and daily activities for this organization.

Accomplishments:

-founded an annual regional juried exhibit and secured high-profile jurors

-quadrupled the students served in our After School Art program, and increased its profile with students, parents and schools

-directed three years of Young Artists' Summer Workshops, including designing weekly themes, hiring teachers and interns, purchasing supplies, registering students, reviewing scholarship applications, overseeing daily classes, and ensuring program ran within budget and generated net income

-managed all aspects of our WV Wine & Arts Festival, including soliciting and organizing vendors, overseeing musical booking, arranging physical site needs, working with printer on festival program, invoicing and financial analysis

-coordinated successful collaborations with other organizations, including our local CVB, Girl Scouts, Art Berkeley (a local group of artists), churches and schools

-completed successful advertising grants with WV Division of Tourism

-working with bookkeeper and auditor, helped to clean up The Arts Centre’s financial records and ensured proper documentation of income and expenses in QuickBooks (also acted as bookkeeper for five months)
