Obtain blood samples from inpatients and outpatients, deliver to correct department for testing. Receive specimens into the lab that are delivered from various departments in the hospital by entering into computer system, then deliver to proper department. Prepare specific samples to be sent by courier to Cleveland Clinic main campus or Fairview Hospital, fax results to physicians offices, order supplies, mail out results, and answer phones.

Elyria Memorial Hospital/Amherst Hospital/EMH at Avon 

At Elyria Memorial and Amherst Hospitals I collected blood samples by venipuncture throughout hospital as needed, accepted and logged specimens into computer system when delivered to the lab, prepared specimens to be sent for further testing, performed EKG's, answered phones, filed  necessary paperwork and faxed paperwork. At EMH at Avon I was an outpatient phlebotomist as well as a radiology assistant. I escorted patients to MRI or CAT SCAN and prepared them for testing. I set up the rooms for the appropriate tests and ordered the tests in the computer.

In the Air Force I trained as a Utilities Systems Specialist (interior and exterior plumber). I then transitioned to the role of Environmental Planner. This job ensured all environmental laws were followed during the  construction of buildings on base.
