Shauna Osborn spent the first seventeen years of her life in a small, rural town in southwestern Oklahoma. The oldest of three Comanche/German mestiza daughters, Shauna grew up in a multilingual working class home. After earning an MFA from New Mexico State University in 2005, Shauna stayed in New Mexico to work with various community organizations in the US/Mexico Border Region. Shauna is working on a series of indigenous comic books based on Comanche folk tales, a memoir, an essay collection, and a book length choreopoem. Her poetry collection, Arachnid Verve, is forthcoming from Mongrel Empire Press.
